CALM Circle of Community in Connection

Gathering in connection, creating space for mindfulness and growth.

The CALM Circle of Community in Connection at TCU provides a purposeful initiative designed to support students from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color backgrounds.

This program is thoughtfully structured to cultivate a deep sense of belonging and foster holistic development within a supportive academic environment.

At its core, the CALM Circle operates at the convergence of personal flourishing, social justice, and collective strength. It creates an inclusive space where students can prioritize their mental wellness and find resonance within a vibrant network of peers. This intentional focus on fostering an equitable and affirming environment ensures that participants feel seen, valued, and empowered to thrive, contributing to both their individual growth and the collective well-being of the broader university community.

A distinctive aspect of this program is the unparalleled access it offers to esteemed visionary leaders and impactful individuals from the North Texas region. Students are presented with a rare chance to interact directly with these societal pioneers, learning from their experiences, insights, and pathways to making a difference. This direct engagement serves not only as a source of inspiration but also provides invaluable mentorship and networking opportunities, equipping participants with the knowledge and connections necessary to become future leaders and agents of positive change in their own communities.

Student Co-Directors Talia Christian and Michala Pollard welcome Dr. Opal Lee to the inaugural CALM Circle, April 5, 2024.
